Breast Care Nurses from the Goulburn Valley attended an education and information sharing day including a presentation on Breast Imaging from Dr Prue Neerhut.
The Toshiba CT at Goulburn Valley Health is undergoing an upgrade. Following this upgrade we will be able to undertake cardiac imaging and in particular, as every heart has a unique orientation and anatomic configuration, we can quickly determine the correct location and undertake a cardiac arteries assessment.
At GVIG, both patients and clinicians can expect the best care – and access to the best equipment. Our computer system for the reception for BreastScreen Victoria site at 104 – 106 Nixon Street, Shepparton has been revised to a digital mammography system. All of our BreastScreen Victoria reception staff have received training in the new computer system.
GVIG, in conjunction with St Vincents Hospital cardiologists, is now pleased to offer echocardiogram assessement at our Shepparton Rooms located at 104 Nixon Street. An echocardiogram is a special ultrasound examination of the heart. Ultrasound utilises sound waves to create images. It assesses the structure and function of the heart muscle and valves.
At GVIG, our staff are regularly growing and expanding their knowledge and expertise. In September, Dr Prue Neerhut, our Partner and Radiologist and Eileen Brettig, our Senior Sonographer attended a meeting with local general practitioners on Pelvic Ultrasounds. A presentation was given at this meeting by experts in the field, Dr Margaret Stegeman and Dr Liliana Ilic-Jeftic.

Goulburn Valley Imaging Group has sponsored an X-Ray cow sculpture as part of the Greater Shepparton City Council - Moooving Art project. The cow is situated in Monash Park, Shepparton and is on view for the general public.
